Conditional Formatting on Form while query is running

I have a form that we are using as a "display screen" to show real-time updates. Refreshes every minute or so

I am currently using Conditional formatting on the form which works. However, it doesn't work while the form is requerying from our IS system, which could take a few minutes.

It only works when the form is not querying / processing.

I was hoping i could create 3 text boxes with 3 colored background (green, yellow, red) and perhaps have them be "visible" based on a value. But, wasn't sure what event to attach that to.
    Any ideas are appreciated

access is single threaded so can only do one thing at a time.

So I would look at what you can do to improve the querying of the is system. This may mean moving your query to run in the IS system, if there are multiple calls, use doevents or refresh between each call, upgrade the network/devices. There may be other options but no info to suggest what they may be.

An alternative to conditional formatting is to use rich text coding to apply background colour- works well for continuous forms.
